Yes, you read that correctly. Queen Bey’s protein powder!
Long story short — Beyoncé’s trainer, Marco Borges, created 22 Days Nutrition. During the Homecoming era, Beyoncé was on Marco’s 22 Day Nutrition program. She saw such great results with this plant-based diet that she teamed up with Marco to promote 22 Days Nutrition and their Meal Planner since she believes in the brand so much.
I also LOVE the name of the brand. It takes 21 days to make a habit — so on the 22nd day, that habit is ingrained in you!
“…If you adopt a healthy habit over the course of 21 days on the 22nd day you’d have a new tool (habit) to move you closer to living the life you want instead of settling for the one you have.” — 22 Days Nutrition
Recently, I’ve been trying their Strawberry and Peanut Butter Protein Powders. First of all… They taste GREAT. They’re smooth when mixed and you can definitely tell that they’re made with high-quality ingredients.
Speaking of which, when I was looking into this brand, I really admired how transparent they were with what they put in their products. Everything is organic and vegan, as well as gluten-free, soy-free (so it works for guys who are watching their soy intake!), non-GMO… And my favorite… No artificial sweeteners or flavors!
They have 4 flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Strawberry. I tried the Peanut Butter and Strawberry.
The ingredients are VERY simple and you can pronounce each and every one. Ingredients are EXTREMELY important to me, as I eat a mainly organic and minimally processed diet. I try to limit artificial sweeteners, processed foods, and anything with crappy ingredients. The reason why is because of nutritional psychiatrist Dr. Uma Naidoo’s book, “This Is Your Brain On Food.” It has benefited my body and mental health tremendously. I will go more in-depth on her book another time on the blog, but I speak about her and her book constantly on Instagram — so be sure to follow me!
So needless to say, 22 Days Nutrition ticked all of my boxes for an amazing protein powder.
In addition, the protein powders have 20 grams of protein, 0 grams of sugar, and 2g of carbs. They’re also 110 calories. This is a great protein option for those of us trying to watch our carb and/or sugar intake. It’s also a great protein option if you are in a calorie deficit for your fitness goals… Or if you need a moderately low-calorie protein snack for those gainz!
“This Protein is POWERED by USDA Organic Plants, loaded with Essential Amino Acids and BCAA’s to help BUILD Muscles, DECREASE Muscle SORENESS or just POWER you through your day. and because this protein comes from plants, it will help REDUCE your IMPACT on the PLANET.” — 22 Days Nutrition

22 Days Nutrition is also changing the game in regards to the sustainability in the fitness world. Their protein powders do not come in tubs — they come in pouches that use 88% less material than plastic tubs. So, you’re not only doing something good for your body, but you’re also making a more sustainable choice in your protein powder. THE PACKAGING IS COMPOSTABLE!
This protein is so versatile. You can make it into pancakes, baked oats, put it in smoothies… Or just drink it alone!
My favorite way to drink it by itself is with 10 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. However, these are some of my favorite recipes that I incorporate my 22 Days Nutrition into!
Peanut Butter + Cacao Baked Oats:
– 1/2 cup of Rolled Oats
-3/4 scoop of 22 Days Nutrition Peanut Butter Protein
– 1 capful of Vanilla Extract
– A bit of raw, unfiltered, local Honey (However much you like!)
-1/4 tsp Baking Powder (add more of this if your oats don’t rise enough in the microwave)
– 3/4 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (you can eyeball this too!)
– Pinch of Salt
– Cacao Nibs (for garnish)
1. Blend all ingredients in a blender (it will be liquid-y)
2. Pour into a bowl or mug
3. Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes, depending on how cake-y you’d like them to be
4. Top with cacao nibs and/or honey
Fruity Spirulina Smoothie:
– 1 cup of Frozen Berries
– 1 scoop of 22 Days Nutrition Strawberry Protein
– 1 cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
– Handful of Spinach
– Dash of Spirulina powder (powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory)
– 1 tsp of Raw, Local Honey
Blend and enjoy! 🙂 The Spirulina in this smoothie is what gives it that green color! But it definitely tastes like berries but you’re secretly sneaking in a bit of greens… Hehe 🙂
I will have to give their
Meal Plan and Vitamins a try in the future!
I am super, super excited about this brand and their wonderfully clean and sustainable products! 🙂
